I am a big fan of Evan Call's music.Yet "Frieren - Beyond Journey's End" is in my opinion his best work so far.The full orchestra and choir pieces are breathtakingly beautiful. The use of many different instruments color the melodies in an exotic flair. And the vast variety and abundance of lyrical, whimsical as well as expressive themes create a really colorful suite with hardly any repetition. For people unfamiliar with this work, this music reminds me of Howard Shore's "Lord of the Rings" soundtracks, blended with a bit of Irish folk music (lots of Uilleann pipes), a hint of medieval music, and also some of John Williams' "Harry Potter" soundtracks as well as Hans Zimmer's "Gladiator" soundtrack come to mind, plus a few typical Evan Call whimsical motifs. If you like any of these soundtracks or musical genres, give "Frieren - Beyond Journey's End" a listen! This soundtrack is very easy to listen to, with many calming and peaceful melodies but also a few majestic, very stirring, exciting songs. For the best enjoyment I recommend listening to this soundtrack the first time fully focussed, but it works also well playing in the background while reading a good book, or doing some computer work. With a total of 70 tracks on 2 CDs - 2 hours and 25 minutes of music - it will be a while until one gets bored of this soundtrack. There is just so much variety. The tracks are somewhat yet not completely in the order they appeared in the anime.Since there are a lot of really good songs, it is difficult to list favorites. "Zoltraak" is a fan favorite, but I find all of them good in one way or another, also the quieter songs are really enjoyable.Highly recommended!Hopefully there will be many more great soundtracks like this one coming from Evan Call in the future. I'm excited!

Love Evan Call's work on Violet Evergarden soundtracks, so after watching Frieren had to buy this. Much of the music does sound like a cross of Violet Evergarden plus LoTR with the Celtic inspired elements of Yuru Camp soundtracks blended in but it has its own character and evokes both the serenity and stronger emotions of the anime while being very calming - and sometimes stirring - to listen to in its own right. The art and quality of the CD packaging is also rather above and beyond the normal too.

Es un deleite escuchar toda la música, para un momento de relajación o concentrarse en las actividad escolares o del trabajo.Y el arte del contenido, todo muy bien detallado y que parece un griterío la presentación, lo hace más representativo de la serie.Ampliamente recomendado.Llego muy rápido el paquete.

I'm a big fan of this series, and of Evan Call's work. So much of a fan, in fact, that when Amazon lost my order, I went in to my local CD store and had them order in a copy to get my hands on it.Musically, you can expect the same kind of emotional and soul-touching music that has been delivered in other words by Evan Call, like Violet Evergarden. This double-album would make an amazing insert into a dungeon master's playlist for atmosphere, with songs that run the gamut of emotional range. Evan Call is great at delivering music that can punch you with devastating lows, but still include a note of hope for what comes next. The packaging is awesome. The paper-quality of the box has a raw-per feel to it as opposed to the usual gloss. Inside the CD's are held in a book-themed case with detailed spell-page designs on the inside, and a leather book-cover pattern on the outside. There is also a booklet with some Japanese interviews, lots of photography, and some cells captured from the show.Is it worth springing the extra for the physical CD's as opposed to just grabbing the digital album off of iTunes? That's a complicated question. If you live your life for physical media like me, the extra money for a double album can certainly feel like a premium, but there were a lot of very nice touches to the physical release (like that raw paper finish, and DRM free music) that really make it feel like it is worth that little bit extra.

Evan Call is just amazing. It goes without saying that the music/composition is incredible. As for the actual product itself, I couldn't be happier. High quality import that puts western physical releases to shame. Poor packaging by Amazon (just dropped in a mailer), but it arrived unharmed thankfully.Japan, as usual, has this double-wrapped beautifully in re-usable plastic bags (saved one to keep the OST in). Discs are in a beautiful case that has awesome artwork inside and out, contains a booklet about the composition and series (in Japanese), and a really nice cardboard sleeve for the disc holder itself to go into. $40 is steep, but quality like this makes it feel less painful. With the U.S. would learn a lesson from stuff like this.
