I had ordered this for my large 1/2" Dewalt Impact gun. What this does is makes the change of sockets much easier and quicker. I liked how it locks on to the impact gun and can be removed by sliding the ring forward. It makes it easier to remove without the sockets falling off or the adapter falling off. It's very well made and will stand up the abuse that the 1/2" impact gun will deliver to it. This was a good find and its worked well when I have used it. I hope that this helps.

This is the second time I purchased this. The first one the push button popped out when it was spinning. I bumped the side of the machine I was working on and it hit the push button. It's a great product you just have to be careful with how you're using it. I think though the design could use some improvements in a lower profile push button

This adapter holds sockets well on my 1/2" impact wrenches and allows me to use my 3/8" impact sockets. The adapter fits the wrenches snugly and holds the sockets securely. It seems to be solidly constructed and I really didn't have any issues with it. Granted, this is not a tool I use all of the time, or even often, but when I do use it, it is reliable and works as expected.

This socket adapter would be a great addition to a retaining-pin design impact driver. Unfortunately, it doesn’t fit the impact driver that I have. The adapter mounts tightly on the half inch drive of the impact driver, but it is not able to slide far enough on for the locking mechanism to seat properly. In measuring the adapter and the drive of the impact driver, it seems that the hole through the drive, and the locking mechanism in the adapter, are only about 1mm apart from properly engaging. Therefore the locking ring on the adapter does not slide back to its fully locked position and the adapter can be pulled off of the half inch drive.I checked two of the name brand impact drivers on display at my local Big Box store and the adapter fit perfectly on both of those.The retaining ball and release mechanism on the front of the adapter for mounting a socket or extension works as it should.I’ve given the GROWGEAR adapter a three star rating because it’s a well thought out and manufactured adapter that will fit many of the impact drivers on the market, it just will not fit all of them.

Very lightweight but built of great quality. It fits perfect and awesome value. Anyone who has impact wrench needs this attachment and I highly recommend
