パイロット 万年筆 カスタム845

まず、149です。845よりもペン先はやや硬めです。他に比べて本体重量が重く安定感があります。インクフローは845と同等に良く安定して湿潤に出ます。845に比べ、線の強弱は付けにくいですが、筆記バランスが良く、長時間の筆記でも疲れにくいです。次に、M800です。ペン先はドイツ製特有の硬さがありますが、149と同等かやや硬め程度です。845よりも明らかに硬いです。樹脂軸は845の方が吸い付くようなフィット感があります。845は浮いた感じの書き味で、M800は直接的な書き味です。インクフローは充分です。さらに、デュオフォールドです。ペン先は845よりも硬く、149やM800よりも柔らかいです。しっかりとした剛性感があり、滑らかに走りつつ筆圧にしっかり追従します。グリップはワックスのようなしっとりとした感触です。インクフローは安定しており紙面をタイトに捉えながら書く感覚です。845の総論です。「魔法のペン」と評されるほどの滑らかさで、筆圧をほとんど必要とせずインクが紙の上にすっと乗ります。なので、筆圧が高い人は加減が必要です。インクフローは安定しており、線切れやかすれもなく、長文筆記でも気持ち良く書き続けられます。インクフローは潤沢で濃淡が付けやすく、ニブの適度な柔らかさもあって、日本語特有のとめ、はね、はらいの表現がしやすいです。筆記抵抗が少なく、紙に吸い付くようにインクが乗ってくれます。カスタム845は、日本が誇る高級万年筆です。「一生モノ」としての品質と、実用的な書き味を兼ね備えた逸品だと思います。

６万以上する万年筆でなのに、通常であればデフォルトでついてくる専用箱、木箱、メーカー登録ハガキ、保証書、説明書、換えのインクカートリッジが全て不足しており、万年筆だけが届きました。

大変なめらかで書きやすい万年筆です。安くはないけどお値段以上でした。

The Pilot Custom 845 Urushi (F) is very close in size and feel to my Montblanc Meisterstück LeGrand 146 (EF) Fountain Pen. The 845 is slightly heavier and feels more substantial in the hand compared to the 146. The EF Montblanc nib writes very like the F nib on the 845 but the 845 has less feedback. Both are stiff nibs with little flex but you can coax a small amount of line variation with care. I have a 1st generation Pilot Justus with a F nib as well, that nib is much softer than the 845. To be honest, I feel writing with the 845 is the perfect balance between the experiences writing with the 146 and the Justus.The 845 comes in a nice wooden (pine?) box with a red cloth liner. As soon as I took it out of the protective plastic sleeve the pen was covered in fine dust and pollen. I have no idea where the particles came from, my other pens are not dusty. But right out of the box, as if it was a statically charged magnet, the smallest mote adhered to it. After a short dip in distilled water it was much better but it took a few days to stop attracting dust. The box includes a cartridge of black ink and a Con-70 convertor. I do not like the Con-70 so I swapped it for a Con-50.Before filling I did a quick flush with distilled water and let it dry before filing it up with Kyo No Oto Nurebairo. The ink works wonderfully in the pen but the sheen is rather light, probably due to the F nib. I have not had an extended writing session yet but the pen's balance in my hand is excellent unposted (I do not post my pens).I have had the pen for 2 weeks now, it is one of my favorite writers - tied with the Montblanc 146 for best writer in my collection. So far there have been no hard starts or skips, flow is even. The nib came out of the box perfectly aligned (unlike a Pelikan M800 that cost almost twice as much...).

MontBlanc146を購入しようと考えていましたが、ずっとセーラーの万年筆を使ってきていて、10月からの値上げということもあり、パイロットCUSTOM845（FｰNib）をまずは購入を、と迎えました。1週間ほど毎日ジャーナルの記載で使ってきましたが、紙との相性もあるものの、万年筆と手との一体感があり、心地よく書くことができています。エボナイト軸は以前からWatermanのリエゾンを使っており、手にしっくりとくるのですが、コーティングが為されていないので軸の日焼けがどうしても目立っています。また、キャップのポストをすると、重心が高くなり長時間は疲れることしばしばです。CUSTOM845は、その点気にはならないのですが、蛍光灯の下で長時間は置かないようにしています。ポストしていても長時間の使用はさほど気になりません。まずは、当面の相棒として手元に置いておきたいと思います。

カスタム845Mサイズ朱色Ｆがどうしても欲しくなり購入。包装も丁寧で早く届けて頂いた。滑らかな書き味。漆塗りは、日本の伝統工芸であり素晴らしい。能登輪島の応援の意味もあり、大切に毎日使わせてもらいます。ありがとうございます。はじめは、ペリカンロイヤルブルーインクを使っていたが、上質紙でスベリがおこりやすく、パイロットインクボトルブルーに変えた。インクフローは、改善。やはり純正インクが良いと思う。

This pen is not easy to find. First time with Pilot pen, very nice pen, and the nib is so good, much better than expected..

I don’t know that paying some $500-600 for an $850 pen, could ever be described as “value”, because paying this much for a pen is ridiculous in the first place! That said, when one thinks of this pen (particularly the red (vermilion) one), as a work of art, then perhaps a justification can be made for said purchase. Otherwise, there are many other pens that write as well.The pen does write amazingly well. It’s like butter! It literally glides across the page. I realize that people say that one shouldn’t buy a certain expensive item, until they have tried lesser examples first. The same applies to this pen. It really is something that can only be appreciated, when you have tried others. And, it has so little feedback, and is kinda large; that it likely will not be anyone’s daily carry. It is beautiful, writes perfectly (almost too smooth to control), and it is of the highest quality. It’s truly a grail pen. Yes, BUY IT!! But realize that you will need another Pilot or equivalent (like a 823, 92, or Falcon) for everyday use. I strongly suggest that you become familiar with their midrange pens before you jump into this, just so you will appreciate what you bought. But definitely BUY IT!

All items came in pristine condition within a decent mail pouch. The merchant had added an additional layer of corrugated cardboard protection to the pen's outermost container, a white box made of a thick and dense cardboard. The box had a textured finish that was both pleasing and elegant. Within this white box was what I had hoped for but had not expected, the unfinished and precisely made wood presentation box with a simple lid and with a red velvet cloth lining. Oh joy. I have always had a thing for nice sturdy boxes, and this box had the grain of the wood naturally arranged. Excellent.Safely contained in the box and carpeted by the red velvet was the Pilot Custom 845 Urushi, one ink cartridge, one Con70 converter, certificates, instructions in Japanese and English, and the serial number tag. All items were restrained and protected by the velvet and a fitted layer of foam to prevent movement.I have made a number of Oak and Cherry boxes for gifts, and this box is just like some of the ones I made many years ago as a container for Christmas gifts. The Pilot 845 presentation box's precision is impressive. It feels like a gift.I really like this Custom 845 Urushi fountain pen with the nib. In my hand it feels like the start of a good friendship. The pen responds to me: I love your paper. Let me guide you. Let's tell a story. You only need the weight of the pen on the paper. It likes paper that other pens find sticky or grabby. Clairefontaine Triomphe is a very good paper for this pen. The 845 is not for everyone and vice versa. The Custom 845 Urushi fountain pen is a very fine and considerable writing instrument.The Con70 converter which was installed in the pen is an easy converter to use. I can use extra converters for other colors.

My fountain pen journey started with the disposable Pilot Varsity in 2014 and has brought me all the way to the Custom 845 Vermillion in Medium Nib. After owning many pens in between I have learned what I like and don't like which helped me form what my grail pen should be size-wise, weight-wise, and writing-wise. All the other pens I have I could describe as "Its good but, I wish it was just a little bit...". I cannot say that about this pen. To me the Pilot Custom 845 is PERFECT. It wasn't always my grail pen but after writing with it, it has solidified itself as my grail pen and I'm glad I was able to purchase it from a legit seller in Japan through Amazon.
